# PBXflex at a glance

PBXflex is a cloud PBX: a hosted business phone system with business texting and fax in one app, on desk phones, the web and mobile. It is run by PBXFLEX INC in Los Angeles and billed month to month.

It is built for offices that live on the phone: healthcare practices, accounting and tax firms, and other growing teams that need calls answered, texts in one shared inbox and a fax line that still works.

Facts checked October 11, 2026.

## What PBXflex does

### A phone system in the cloud

Every user gets an extension and a local number. Auto attendants (IVR), call queues with callback, ring groups, shared voicemail, conference rooms and intercom paging are set up in the app, not on a box in your office. [All features](https://www.pbxflex.com/features)

### Business texting

Your team texts customers from the business number, in a shared inbox, with photos and documents in the thread. Texting campaigns are registered for 10DLC. [How business texting works](https://www.pbxflex.com/features/business-sms-mms-rcs)

### Fax without a fax machine

Faxes are sent and received in the app on every plan. An existing fax machine can stay in use as a shared-device line, a monthly add-on for a device rather than a person. [How fax works](https://www.pbxflex.com/features/fax-extension)

### Desk phone, web and mobile

Calls ring wherever your team works. Desk phones can be bought or rented, and number porting is free. [Phones and setup options](https://www.pbxflex.com/pricing)

## Plans and what they include

Essentials and Business are priced per user. Text & Fax is priced per account, for teams that keep their current phone system. Enterprise is quoted.

- **Essentials** ($30/user/mo): Calling, texting and fax for a small office with one main number. 500 credits a user each month, shared by the team: about 500 minutes of US and Canada calls, or 250 text segments, for each user on the plan.
- **Business** ($40/user/mo): Every call-flow feature included, for teams that handle a lot of calls. 1,000 credits a user each month, shared by the team: about 1,000 minutes of US and Canada calls, or 500 text segments, for each user on the plan.
- **Enterprise** (Custom): For 50 or more users, several sites, international numbers or custom terms. Priced by quote.
- **Text & Fax** ($45/mo): Business texting and fax for teams that keep their current phone system. 500 credits a month for the account: up to 250 text segments or 250 fax pages.

## How billing works

- Every plan is month to month. Cancel any time.
- Usage is billed in telecom credits. One credit is one cent, and credits are pooled across the account.
- Number porting is free on every plan.
- Prices exclude taxes and government fees. PBXflex charges no administrative or regulatory recovery fee.
- Purchased credits never expire. Included credits reset each month.
- When your balance falls below 100 credits, a pack of 2,500 credits is added for $25. You can switch auto-reload off in the app.

### Usage rates

| Usage | Credits |
| --- | --- |
| US and Canada call, per minute, in or out | 1 |
| Toll-free inbound call, per minute | 3 |
| SMS segment, sent or received | 2 |
| MMS, sent or received | 5 |
| Fax page, sent or received | 2 |
