Ring several people at once so somebody answers
Ring several people at once, or one after another, so a call gets answered rather than going to voicemail.
The problem
A call routed to one person goes to voicemail whenever that person is out, on another call, or at lunch.
How Call RingGroup works
A ring group rings several extensions for the same call — all at once, or one after another in a set order. The first person to pick up gets the call and the rest stop ringing.
The difference from a call queue is what happens when nobody is free. A queue holds the caller in line; a ring group tries everyone and then falls through to voicemail. Ring groups suit small teams where somebody is usually available, and queues suit lines where callers would rather wait than leave a message.
Ring groups are included on Business. Essentials includes one IVR, ring group or shared voicemail, and more are available as add-ons.

Who it is for
Small teams sharing responsibility for a line — a two-person sales desk, an on-call rota, a back-office team.
